Jean Paul Gaultier's Fall-Winter 2005 collection, presented in Paris, was a clear example of his experimental approach to fashion. This show was characterized by a mix of elements of haute couture and popular culture, fusing genres, styles and eras with a very modern interpretation.Gaultier worked with high-volume, fitted silhouettes, which created an interesting dynamic between structured and fluid. The use of very wide sleeves and dresses with architectural shapes was seen, some pieces that were reminiscent of Victorian fashion, combined with very tight skirts and pants, something that defined that season.
One of the most notable features was the contrast between the masculine and feminine style. Gaultier used suits and vests, inspired by men's tailoring, combined with very feminine details such as corsets, long skirts and plunging necklines.
This piece with a clear military influence, has a crossed closure system covered with gold buttons that match the shape of the neck a lot. The structure of the piece is very solid, we see it in parts such as the shoulders or cuffs. The piece has gold embroidered details and also some parts in velor. It's practically new.
